EDMONTON – Simons is opening its second Edmonton store at Londonderry Mall, the Quebec-based fashion retailer announced Thursday.
The timing couldn’t be better for Londonderry, an old shopping centre in northeast Edmonton undergoing a $130-million renovation to reinvent itself.
“I’d use the word game-changer,” said Londonderry general manager Terry Napper.
The family-owned junior department store, a 175-year-old retail institution known for its mid-priced to upscale apparel, home goods and arty decor, is opening an 88,000-square-foot, two-level anchor store in the fall of 2017. It will be designed by Quebec firm Lemay Michaud.
