Emma May, president of the Calgary River Communities Action Group, said her organization — which aims to represent all flood-affected neighbourhoods in the city — disagrees that all projects should be suspended, adding there is mitigation work taking place around the city that desperately needs to be completed as soon as possible.

However, she said she agrees that “one-off” flood mitigation projects are worrisome, in part because they take the focus away from the big picture.
