Grovetown-based GIW Industries is expanding its Canada facility to meet needs of the oil sands industry.
The company is adding 10,000-square-feet to the REGEN Service Centre at Fort McMurray, Alberta. The project is expected to conclude in mid-2014, according to the company, and will create a more efficient area to meet the demand from a growing oil sands market and broaden repair service operations. GIW Industries, formerly known as Georgia Iron Works, designs and manufactures heavy industrial pumps and equipment.
The Fort McMurray center handles pump installation and maintenance supervision as well as provides repair, inspection, training, retrofitting, technical consultants and other related services.
There are other REGEN Service Centers in Thomson, Ga., Mulberry, Fla., and Hibbing, Minn.
The company is a subsidiary of KSB AG of Germany and serves a global market. It has manufacturing facilities in Grovetown and Thomson.
